The West Montrose covered bridge, located in the township of Woolwich, was designed and constructed by local contractor John Bear with help from his brother in 1881. As Ontario’s only remaining covered bridge, the township has designated the property as being of cultural heritage value and the Ministry of Culture has added it to the Ontario Bridge List. Moses Structural Engineers provided non-destructive testing.
