Welland Fire Stations & HQ
The city of Welland has embraced the use of timber in the construction of two new sustainable emergency service buildings, not typically associated with wood. The net-zero 20,000 sq. ft Fire Station Headquarters and Training Center, as well as Fire Station No. 2 have replaced the city’s aging buildings. Construction included SIP (Structurally Insulated Panel) walls, glulam beams, columns and wood roof trusses in the apparatus bay. The buildings also feature training and office spaces built using light wood frame construction.
