This highly detailed modern 2,000 sq. ft. home is built with a combination of exposed steel elements and conventional wood frame construction. The new house is built on the foundations of a previous house on the same site. Detailed design features include sloping and stepping roof planes to encourage drainage. What appear to be balconies are actually multiple green roofs that wrap around the second floor of the house. The roof was designed to support a solar array and the design allows for exterior insulation with added thermal mass.
