Don Mills Residence
This new custom home was designed for entertaining, relaxation, and everything in between. The 5,000 sq.ft. residence features large open spaces that are perfect for friends and family gatherings, while ravine views and natural light soak through the double-height windows. We designed a hybrid structural steel post-and-beam system with engineered wood floors for the 3-storey home. We used exposed glued-laminated timber structural curtain walls to add a balance of warmth and elegance to the home. Sustainable features include insulated concrete form (ICF) foundations and a rooftop solar PV system. As Altius Architects say, this building is “a lush urban oasis, and provides respite from the stress of city life.”
