Mino Bimaadiziwin, Good Life, 2024 Unveiling at Exhibition Place

Last month, the Moses Structural Engineers team was honoured to attend the Grand Unveiling of Mino Bimaadiziwin, A Good Life, 2024. We’re thrilled to see this incredible project come to life in collaboration with STUDIO tla and the talented Indigenous father-son duo Luke Swinson & August Swinson. This stunning new feature wall, standing 7 meters tall and 50 meters long, is located in Centennial Square park at the Exhibition Place in downtown Toronto and can be seen from the Gardiner Expressway below.

“The multi-layer piece will also tell a story depicted through seven dodems that each represent one of the original Anishinaabe clans – Crane, Loon, Bear, Fish, Marten, Deer and Bird – and the four sacred medicines – tobacco, sage, cedar and sweetgrass. Many other clans were formed from these [dodems] and there are many stories and meanings behind each one that will differ between communities.”

Moses Structural Engineers teamed up with Cobalt Fabrication to develop a custom prefabricated system with concealed connections, allowing panels to be assembled off-site and delivered to the location, cutting down installation time.
