Moses Structural Engineers Principal David Moses will travel to Darmstadt, Germany, later this month to participate as both a keynote speaker and panelist at the Net-Zero Future Conference 2026.
Taking place September 30 to October 2 at the darmstadtium Science and Congress Center, the conference will bring together researchers, engineers, industry professionals, and other leaders from around the world to explore how research and innovation can accelerate the transition toward a net-zero built environment.
The third International Conference on Net-Zero Built Environment will focus on innovations in materials, structures, and management practices, with discussions spanning low-carbon materials, optimal structural design, life-cycle analysis, circular construction, structural monitoring, digital fabrication, and emerging construction technologies.
David brings more than 25 years of structural engineering experience in Canada and the United States, with a particular focus on timber engineering and the development and adoption of new structural systems. His work has included some of Canada’s earliest applications of cross-laminated timber (CLT), contributions to timber design standards and reference guides, and ongoing advocacy for approaches that move new building technologies from research and demonstration into real-world construction.
That connection between research and implementation will be an important part of the conversation in Darmstadt. As the construction industry works to reduce embodied carbon while responding to growing demands for housing and infrastructure, progress depends not only on developing better materials and systems, but on finding practical ways to design, approve, manufacture, and build with them at scale.
